Political Affairs
The main task of the Political Department is to serve the political interests of the Netherlands in the United Kingdom.

Points of particular interest of the Political Department are:

• British policy regarding the European Union
• British policy regarding the United Nations
• British policy regarding peace and security, including within the framework of NATO and the OSCE
• British policy regarding development cooperation
• domestic political developments in the UK.

Defence
The Defence Department promotes and supports relations of the Netherlands in the fields of Defence and International Security with the United Kingdom.

Policing
The Embassy has a liaison-officer of the Royal Military Police. The liaison is tasked with maintaining close ties with British police and immigration services, as well as exchanging operational information concerning organised crime and illegal immigration.
